Accord uses uncertain information from multiple sources to support the selection of one alternative from an enumerated list of optional courses of action.  Evaluation of the alternatives is based on a list of criteria - qualitative or quantitative measures. Evaluations can be made by the members of a team of people and/or by data automatically collected or simulated.   Each source can be uncertain, incomplete, evolving in time and conflicting.  New alternatives, criteria or evaluation information sources can be added or deleted at any time.

The results include:

• The satisfaction with each alternative, calculated from various viewpoints  (Viewpoints are reflected in the weightings of how important each criteria is relative to the others)

• The probability that each alternative is best, calculated from various viewpoints  (Viewpoints are reflected in the weightings of how important each criteria is relative to the others)

• The risk incurred by basing the decision on the current information

• The risk incurred by choosing alternative x

• A "what to do next” analysis indicating what new information should be
  collected to lower the risks

• A sensitivity analysis

• A forecast across all viewpoints as to which alternative is most likely to be the best one to select.
